Educational Therapist Says She Has Found a Cure for Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia)
Forty percent (40 %) of students in the United States are reading below grade level. Two out of ten students are classified as learning disabled (dyslexic). Charter schools have popped up everywhere in the United States in an effort to find new answers to these perplexing problems. In a newly released book by Achieve Publications, author, Addie Cusimano, presents her answers to the questions, "Can learning disabilities (dyslexia) be cured?" and "What can we do to raise the level of reading of all students in America?" Her book, entitled, Learning Disabilities: There is a Cure sheds new light on facets of learning that she found lacking in our present basic reading programs. It offers her remedy for children with learning problems, an answer to America’s academic woes.
Each chapter contains an explanation of various skills that students must develop in order to learn with ease, the author’s findings in regard to those skills, and what is needed to teach these essential learning skills. Ms. Cusimano’s preface is that learning disabled students can and should be cured at an elementary level, and that the best reading approach for all children is one that would incorporate facets of learning that are not found or developmentally presented in our basic reading programs at the present time.
Written in an easy to read highly organized format, Learning Disabilities: There is a Cure offers answers to parents, educators, physicians, school psychologists, social workers, learning disabled adults and curriculum developers.
Addie Cusimano holds a Masters Degree in education with a reading specialist certification. She has worked for over thirty-five years in her field closely researching the problems and needs of children with learning problems. She is an expert in her field and operated a private learning center that specialized in working with learning disabled students for seventeen years. She is the author of a four (4) volume set of teaching materials designed to correct visual memory deficiencies that has been proven to be highly successful in developing this essential learning skill.
